Claiming a Page or Event BasicsPublished by
RunnerSpace, at its core, acts as an archive for the sport of running / track and field. With a goal of tracking history (pun intended) and connecting the events, teams, athletes, and companies. To accomplish this, all of our content is shared within the network that includes over a million profiles, teams, bios, companies and events. We have created a directory that lists every high school team, college team, club / professional team, running store, timing company, and major event in the United States and Canada and are extending out to the world with each day. As we cover events and collect content, we automatically connect it to any relevant page within our network. For example, if we shoot a race video from a particular event from a high school meet, our system will automatically share that video to relevant events, teams and athletes in that video. As you can imagine, connecting everything within the sport of running is nearly impossible without the help from the community. To help with this process, our system allows managing staff such as coaches, event directors, etc. to claim the event, team or page that they are in charge of in the real world. Once an event, team or page is claimed, that individual will be given editor priveleges by the RunnerSpace staff to manage and customize that site as they see fit in collaboration with what's being posted automatically. Click these links to read more about customization and management options. As a rule to prevent any misuse, we do not allow any parents, athletes, or fans to claim any event, team, or page. As an alternative, any parent, athlete, or fan can follow any team, event, page, or bio within RunnerSpace. Also, parents, athletes, and fans can contribute content such as videos, photos, and news to any event, team, page, or bio, but for that content to be visible, it will need to be approved by an editor or RunnerSpace representative. Claiming an event, team, or page within RunnerSpace is easy (athlete bios cannot be claimed). Simply go to the event, team, or page that you are wanting to claim and click the Claim button in the top right corner. This will bring up the Claim popup. If you are not logged in, then you will see a "Login to RunnerSpace to Continue" popup before you can proceed. Once you are logged in the claimed popup will have you choose between two options. Click the Claim button that is below option number two, that says "Head Coach, Team Manager, or Page Owner." Once you click the Claim button, it will take you to a form that says, "Please submit the claim request below." Simply fill out this information and click the "Submit Claim" button at the bottom. You will be contacted within 1-3 business days from someone on the RunnerSpace staff informing you if you have been approved or not.
