Attaching is like tagging people on facebook, but our system lets you attach things to bios, events and groups/pages as well in the same way. The main difference is that all attached items must be approved by the profile/group/page/event's editor that they are attached to before they will show up to the public on that site.
#tag work just like twitter except instead of putting the #tag in the title you put in in the #tag field. When clicking on the #tag it takes you to all the items on the site that have that #tag (right now it sticks to the media it's on IE videos with #tagxx, but in the future there will be a sitewide #tag search that will show everything). It's always good to #tag your content to it connects it with similar content across the site. This lets people find your content in many different ways.
It's generally good practice to include some consistant tags to your content just to keep all your content together and also tag it with relevant terms that identify the content like the event name (IE fsu-invite) the level (IE high-school) top athletes (IE joe-shmo) etc. You don't have to do it, but it helps people find your content in more ways across the site.
