Custom Domains and URLs BasicsPublished by
RunnerSpace has always been about customizing your page, event, or profile to fit your needs. The URL can be an important piece to personalizing your space as well as matching it up with some of your other social media URLs. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram use what is called a vanity URL. This simply means that the URL would start with the domain (i.e. Facebook.com/vanityname). But to take things to the next level of customization, a setup using sub-domains and custom domains is the answer. When you create your RunnerSpace account, you will automatically be given a sub-domain based on your user name (i.e. username.runnerspace.com). This sub-domain can be edited at any time by going to your page, event, profile Settings menu in the bottom left corner of your page and selecting the "Change your URL" link. Note: custom sub-domains are based on a first come, first served basis. Custom domains such as PreClassic.com are currently in the works as a Premium feature and will be issued on a limited basis. When this feature is added the sub-domain of username.runnerspace.com would be replaced with username.com. Until this feature is available custom domains can simply redirect to any sub-domain. (Forwarding a domain can vary depending on the host that you use so please check with your hosting company for instructions. The process is usually fairly simple and only takes a few minutes.)
