"Posting As" Tutorial

There are many reasons why you would not want to post content under your own profile and instead "Post As" somebody (or something) else.  Sometimes you do not want to be you, rather, you want to be the meet, or a team, or a company.  For example, meet directors who want to post news and results can "Post As" the meet to make sure athletes and fans know they're reading official news (Example: 2013 Big School Invite Results will be posted by "Big School Invite" rather than "Joe Runner" who actually posted it.)  Here's how you do it.

When adding news, a video, photos, a blog, or results, click the button that says "Attachments" in the lower left of the uploader window.

Type in the event or group name you want the article to be posted by (i.e. Oregon Relays or South Eugene High School) and a dropdown list of possible matches will appear.  Select your event or group from that list and it will appear in the list of pages you are attaching the content you're uploading to.  If you are not an editor (i.e. you did not create the event or group site on RunnerSpace, or have not been added by the creator as an editor) you will not be able to "Post As" that event or group.  If you are, a checkbox with the words "Post As" next to it will appear next to the event or group name once you have selected it.  Click the box, and when you're done selecting other groups or events you want to post your content to, click Apply and proceed with your upload!

Do you have content you've already uploaded and would like to change the publisher (the post-as-er…)?  No sweat.  As the editor of the site you want to post your content as, you'll have the ability to go into your back-end content manager (that set of buttons on the lower part of your screen when you're on your profile, event, or group site.  For example, if you want to change who posted a certain news article, click News from the menu bar at the bottom of your page so you can easily find and edit your news article(s) you would like to change.

Select the folder your news article is in and all the news articles in that folder will appear (no doubt you're familiar with this screen already!).  You'll see a series of icons on the right side by the checkbox for each news article.  The one that looks like a gear will allow you to edit just that news article.  Click it and your edit screen will pop up.

You can now follow the instructions outlined above to change the publisher of your news article.  Once you have the "Post As" checkbox checked on the event or group you would like to post as, click Apply and Edit Article and your news article will now appear to be published as the event or group you selected!
