Blog Upload Tutorial

1. Be sure to be logged in. Click here for Getting Started Guide.

2. Mouse over Plus icon (+) in menu bar and click Write Blog.

An Add a Blog popup will appear.

3. Upload Date - this is when you want your blog to appear on RunnerSpace.

4. Creation Date - this is when you want your blog to appear to have been created (particularly useful for uploading blogs for past years).

5. Attach a File - here you can upload your document to be downloaded by other users.  Click Attach a File and a Choose File button will appear below.  Click Choose File to select your file from your computer or storage device. Supports most common file types such as: .xls, jpg, .png, .pdf, .gif, .doc, .docx…  You may only attach one document per blog. Maximum size is 6MB.

6. Categories and Folders

Category - Required

Other fields are not required, but help keep your blogs organized in our system.

7. Tags

Add appropriate tags that will apply to the blog or documents you're uploading (i.e. blogs about the Oregon Relays can be tagged Oregon-Relays as this tag will apply to all the blogs and/or documents).  Click here for Attaching / Tagging / #Hashtags Basics

8. Attach to Profiles

This is where you attach your blog to an event, group, or profile (i.e. blogs from the Oregon Relays can be attached to the Oregon Relays event site).  Type in Oregon Relays and a dropdown list of possible matches will appear.  Select your event from that list and it will appear in the list of pages you are attaching your blog to.  You can attach to more than one page at a time (i.e. if all your blogs from the Oregon Relays are of the South Eugene track team, attach your blog to South Eugene as well).  After reviewing your blogs, we will approve them and they will appear on the pages you've attached them to.  Attaching your blogs to other pages is important in spreading your blog beyond your own profile and sharing them with the running community.  You can be a vital part of community event coverage just by attaching your blog to pages we have already created - most meets, races, groups, teams, etc. have already been created in our system!  If you're attaching to your own event (one that you have created and are the administrator for the page) and you have an official blog for the event, you can check the "Post As" box in the attachment window after selecting your event so your blog will appear to have been posted by your event. Click here for Attaching / Tagging / #Hashtags Basics

9. Title (Required)
Title your blog - click here for Guidelines and Best Practices.

10. Content
This is where you can type or paste in your blog.  This field is not required as some blogs will simply be uploaded file attachments, but even in this case, you can do both.

Click here for our Text Editor Basics and Tricks tutorial to maximize the customization of your article.

11. Add Article

Click the Add Article button to upload your blog.

A Choose Images to Attach - window will pop up.

12. Adding an image is optional, but awesome.  To upload an image: Click Browse to find the image you want to use from your computer or storage device.  A browsing window will pop up, select your picture and click Open to select.

Click Update Images to upload your image.  Your image will appear in the list of images, you may upload more than one, and you may select your default image, delete an unwanted image, and add descriptions for each image. Click here for Giving Credit for Photos.  Click Update Images after making any changes.

Click Close to exit the Add blog tool.

Happy Blogging!
